Description
Naked Steel is breaking the stereotype of conventional offices to create a working space that integrates more with nature. This modern, mixed-use office building project consists of a working space, a meeting room, an exhibition hall, residence units a storage area, a canteen , a fitness room, a pray room, a family room, a roof garden and common area, all of which interact with the local climate and represent the nature into the building. Steels are incorporated to exist with trees, staff are considered the family, and living well is correlated with working well.
The architecture is divided into two main buildings. The first one in front of the site serves as an office and an exhibition hall while the other one at the back of the site is a storage area. These two buildings are connected with the common space, the multipurpose area and the roof garden in which this linkage allows ventilation flow between buildings. With the concept of concealing the office space in the forest and shielding the architecture with the steel structure frame, the working space and the living space are connected with the tree and the vision of greenery was extended to the sky , providing peace and inspiration for staff and visitors alike.
The building was constructed with a typical concrete structure with the use of the steel frame for the facade to let the plants grow and cover the architecture. The trees can also protect the building from the heat of direct sunlight and create a dramatic atmosphere inside. Besides, the long cantilever steel roof creates shading in which intricacy and time are pivotal to the desired aesthetic appearance and functionality .
